This project involved the full internal refurbishment of a former rectory, set in a beautiful South Devon landscape. This marvellous property, made up of Georgian and Victorian elements, was reconfigured to work better for modern family life, retaining and restoring its best period features, and enhancing the points of interest. Rooms were reconfigured where beneficial, requiring structural works, and layouts were adapted to enhance the connections to the gardens and the rolling landscape beyond. The materials palette was simplified to a muted mix of natural stone, original floorboards, and comfortable tones reflecting the landscape and character of the property. South West Studio were appointed for all project stages. A future phase will see the landscaping and exterior of the house enhanced.
